Friday's Experiment Worked

Our test phrase "Favourite feel good song - Electronica" is there on Google provided you use the "" - otherwise it is not in the first 100. Just goes to show the impact of "" . In some respects this demonstrate the power of this function especially with longer keyword phrases. But we shouldn't get too carried away because we didn't make too much effort to optimize the blog for that phrase although it did appeared early in the text as well as the title and we used it as link text later on. This is a bit of an issue with Wordtracker who recommend analysis with "" but I've never been too sure about the extent to which real searchers use them - we certainly don't see them often in the search logs.

We are also starting to see the benefit of some of the other changes we have made in the last couple of weeks. The samples pages are starting to appear in search results for specific pieces so there is more to do there. More encouragingly the average time spent on the site is going up - the information from Hitslink is clearly helping us make the right kind of moves. It is particularly encouraging when you can see positive results from your actions like this.

Our Wordtracker week is almost over now and we have a pretty detailed action plan based on the results. No magic bullets but some useful opportunities - more of that anon.

Carl Maria von Weber MP3s

Weber is particularly well known for his meliflouous clarinet concerto and we are lucky enough to be able to offer 9 minute of the Andante rendered on marimba, xylophone and steel drums. The marimba does a good job on the clarinet part but in some respects the drums steal the show - the sunny Caribbean sound just makes you want to smile and so the lofi clip from this piece is today's streaming sample . The real discovery for us however was the Rondo Briliante which truly lives up to its name. We have rendered it on harp, vibes and steel drums which is particularly effective on the long rippling runs. For the time being you will have to visit our website www.download2mp3.com/schumann_etc.htm to hear the clip from this one.
